Last week, the Engeny team attended the 25th Queensland Water Symposium, proudly hosted by Engineers Australia. The event brought together professionals from across the industry to explore current and future challenges in water engineering, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.

Our team of Engenites made the most of the day, attending every session and engaging with fellow professionals, researchers, and industry leaders.

One of the key highlights for us was having Daniel Niven present the topic “Online Detention Structures and Fish-Friendly Design Criteria”, which was developed by Jesse Hunter. The presentation sparked valuable discussion around balancing stormwater infrastructure needs with ecological considerations — a topic we’re deeply passionate about.

A big thank you to Engineers Australia for organising such a well-run and insightful event. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
