Desmond is an environmental water resources engineer with experience and interest at the intersection of waterway management, ecohydraulics and geomorphology that spans on coupled landscape-freshwater systems investigations. His work focusses on waterway management where he performs applied interdisciplinary (ecohydraulics, hydrology and geomorphology) investigations that spans a range from field-based through to numerical modelling application to advance our understanding on interaction of landscape- freshwater systems and inform management strategies (particularly in the context of their physical and ecological management). Desmond has actively participated and delivered research and projects for local government, Melbourne Water as well as international clients.
