Petrie Water Supply Zone Network Reconfiguration

Moreton Bay, Queensland

Scope of Services
The Petrie Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is a major facility providing bulk treated water to approximately 100,000 people within the Petrie Water Supply Zone (WSZ). The Petrie WTP is an aging facility and previous subregional planning undertaken by Seqwater identified potential significant whole-of-life benefits in decommissioning the plant and connecting the Petrie WSZ to the broader bulk water supply network. Engeny was engaged to develop a concept design, functional specification (including hydraulic network modelling), a detailed operating and control philosophy and to the progress technical documentation to enable the project to progress to design and construction. The design included:

  • bypass pipework (DN600) at the Kallangur pump station and elevated tower
  • new bypass pipework (DN450) at the Petrie WTP
  • new Petrie High Level (HL) pump station (130L/s).
