Logan-Albert River Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan

Logan City Council

Logan-Albert River, Queensland

Scope of Services

  • Establishing a detailed understanding of the existing flooding behaviour of the Logan-Albert River system using the output from the existing Logan-Albert River flood model to map key flood risk characteristics.
  • Utilising state-of-the-art mapping techniques and graphical presentation outputs to present and communicate flood risks spatially within the catchment for a range of design flood events and assist Council with disaster planning and response. Mapping outputs include: flood exposure map with statistical and spatial flood information, maps showing isolated and vulnerable communities, critical infrastructure, properties at risk relative to river gauge heights, isolation warning time relative to river gauge levels, and an evacuation route plan.
  • Identifying flooding hotspot areas and recommending practical and feasible flood risk management measures (structural and non-structural) with sufficient details to be costed and prioritised for further evaluation.
