Leading the charge into the future of Water Economics, last night, five of our Young Professional Water Engineers attended the Australian Water Association’s Professional Development and Networking event in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Up for discussion by a panel of water industry professionals were the challenges and opportunities in the delivery of water services throughout Australia, including the hot debate between the need to keep the water industry within the public sector, rather than in the hands of private corporations. Our engineers, Charlene, Joel, Alice, John, and Scarlett were keen to dive in and learn from the professional panel, furthering their education about the water service industry, as well as networking among fellow water industry professionals in the hopes of ensuring a bright future for the water service economy. The insider scoop is that Uber Water may one day be a reality.
